Cisco buys WebEx for $3.2 billion
After getting blasted for buying FiveAcross, Cisco makes another move and purchases WebEx for $3.2 billion dollars. Yes, that’s two YouTubes! Less than two months ago, WebEx had a stock price of approximately $38. Since then, it has crept all the way up to $56 (today’s quote). Peculiarly, the stock price started to climb long before any announcement that they were in talks with Cisco. Damn I wish I was on the inside, that is quite a return.
The battle between the technology powerhouses is definitely heating up:
Google vs. Microsoft vs. Amazon vs. Ebay vs. Yahoo vs. AOL/Netscape vs Cisco?
The Apple iLaunch
The folks over at TheOnion.com are some funny people. Their latest spoof targets Apple’s “i” marketing, with the “iLaunch,” which will “revolutionize the process of unveiling new products throughout the world.” Hilarious.
